Catiline's Three Dimensional Picture of a Clay Seal from a Papyrus

This is a clay seal, about one inch across, used to close a Greek document written on papyrus. The date is unknown, but the document came from Egypt, and was found by the Egypt Exploration Fund around the beginning of the twentieth century. The figure on the seal is unidentified. The original is in the collection of the Bancroft Library at the University of California at Berkeley.

To obtain the three-dimensional effect, stare at the image, then cross your eyes, keeping the image in focus. The two images will become four, and then the two middle images will become superimposed, making three images. The middle image will be a three-dimensional image of the clay seal.
