Some love the sunshine, fresh air, the park

I love the shadows that appear after dark

The young and innocent feel safe in daylight

I need the darkness, the blackness of night

This world is my kingdom, it's here I rule

My victims the tainted, the useless, the fool

They don't care what I do, the people of day

Their world is color, mine shades of gray

They want only nice things around them to see

So they ignore human refuse, they leave it to me

But they're only human, I am not of their kind

They are happy to stumble, emotionally blind

I'm sorry I sometimes get into this mood

I hate being near them but I need them for food

Here comes one now, in this doorway I'll wait

They never see me, until it's too late

Now into my body, his lifeblood will flow

I have just cancelled his small part in life's show

How utterly foolish that look on their face

When they see me and know I am part of this place
