Master Fire Plans

The Master Fire Plan provides Guidelines for improving a fire department's ability to protect life and property.  Detailed information is provided to guide fire departments in achieving an improved ISO classification. The plans show equipment needs, ISO requirements, and the documentation that will be requested during an ISO evaluation. Calculations are shown by department and countywide to support the importance of a lower ISO classification. The plan is written on a countywide basis and includes actions for fire departments to become more compatible with each other.

707 fire departments currently have a Master Fire Plan with additional fire departments to be planned in 2003. Master Fire Plans are in place in 71 of Arkansas' 75 counties.
